Disaster only happens for two reasons

Why did this happen? A question we ask ourselves this many times especially when it comes to disaster in our lives. I think by reading the Bible I came up with two reasons for the disaster in our lives. And they are really very simple either God caused it or He allowed it. I’ll point to two of the most well know men in the Bible to make my case Noah & Job.
In Noah’s case God was disgusted with all of mankind so He sent disaster in the form of a great flood. So in this instance God caused it. (Genesis 6: 11-13)

Then in Job’s case God went as far as pointing out Job to Satan as an example what he should be like, then Satan being Satan questioned God and then eventually disaster fell on Job over and over again. In this case God by no means caused the disasters but allowed them to happen with limits. (Job 1:12)

So when it comes to any disasters big or small in your life  just remember God has either caused it or allowed it and in both cases God is in control and those who love Him are saved. Also try not to be the cause but the example.

Job 1:12

12 “All right, you may test him,” the Lord said to Satan. “Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.” So Satan left the Lord’s presence.

 Genesis 6: 11-13

11 Now God saw that the earth had become corrupt and was filled with violence. 12 God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. 13 So God said to Noah, “I have decided to destroy all living creatures, for they have filled the earth with violence. Yes, I will wipe them all out along with the earth
