Something worth working for

Today’s blog is part of a series I’m going to call Despicable me. It will be about possibly one of the most important yet most misunderstood subjects in the Bible. A subject has to be properly understood for a person even being to understand the grace of God and that subject is Sin.

Philippians 2:5
5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

This is a noble goal for any Christian and one that most Christians would say that they strive for but sin makes the goal a real struggle, a lot of hard work. Because the attitude Jesus had is the very first thing Satan attacks just look at verses 6-8 speaking of Jesus.
6 Though he was God,[a]
he did not think of equality with God
as something to cling to.
7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges[b];
he took the humble position of a slave[c]
and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,[d]
8 he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.

 Who wants that? That goes against everything our society teaches us, even in words disguised as self esteem.

To have the same attitude as Jesus had is not impossible however it will take a lot of prayer, support from other Christians and yes a lot of hard work. But that attitude is something that is worth working for.
