Wanting to believe a lie

One of the biggest problems society has today is being tricked into believing things that are not true. (In fact we don't even like to call them lies.) We do it with good intentions but good intentions do not make it true.  If a lie is repeated often enough, people will begin to believe it, and not only will they believe it they will also defend it as the truth. This problem affects us at every level of life; just watch TV for 10 minutes. But most importantly in regards to the Word of God and Jesus don’t be deceived. There is a lot of lies being told over and over again, even in the church. Lies that we have all heard and perhaps even believe ourselves. To know the truth you have to have a relationship with Jesus and read and study His word. There are many times we want to believe a lie because lies are much easier to believe than the truth. Like they say if you know the truth the truth will set you free.

Colossians 2:8

8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers[a] of this world, rather than from Christ
