Today’s blog is part of a series I’m going to call Despicable me. It will be about possibly one of the most important yet most misunderstood subjects in the Bible. A subject has to be properly understood for a person even being to understand the grace of God and that subject is Sin.
Despicable me 2: He knows
One of the most quoted verses in the Bible in regards to sin is Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” easy enough to understand but Jesus makes it simpler yet in John 2: 23-25
23 Because of the miraculous signs Jesus did in Jerusalem at the Passover celebration, many began to trust in him. 24 But Jesus didn’t trust them, because he knew human nature. 25 No one needed to tell him what mankind is really like.
He knows what we are like when it comes to sin. There is no fooling Him. We just need to see our short comings too, when we do this we will see our need for Him.
