Thank you Thank you

Believe it or not Ephesians 3: 1-8 could be one of the more controversial sets of scripture among those who call themselves Christians. If you believe in God at all, you have to believe that He is all mighty and powerful correct? However as humans we continually try and take power from Him and these verses show us one of the greatest powers he has that humans are always trying to steal from Him and that is the power of salvation. The controversial parts of these verses are even before he made the world God loved us and chose us and God decided in advance to adopt us. What this is saying that God Himself and no one else decides who He chooses for salvation. The before and in advance emphasis makes it clear that there is nothing we can do as humans to earn His favor and this is what we are constantly trying to do.  For the saved and the lost both, trying to earn salvation is nothing more than trying to take God’s power and use it yourself (good luck with that) If you think God needs help or by what you do will overrule His decision you have just broken the first of the Ten Commandment and created your own God.
God has the right to choose who he wants and it is a wonder as corrupt as we are that He chooses any of us. I guess that’s why they call it grace. The other parts of these words I love are when it says this is what he wanted to do and it gave him great pleasure, he purchased our freedom, and he has showered us in kindness, wisdom, and understanding and all I can say to that is thank you thank you.
Ephesians 1:3-8
3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. 4 Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. 5 God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. 6 So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son.[b] 7 He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. 8 He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.
