Luke 11: 37-39
37 As Jesus was speaking, one of the Pharisees invited him home for a meal. So he went in and took his place at the table.[l] 38 His host was amazed to see that he sat down to eat without first performing the hand-washing ceremony required by Jewish custom. 39 Then the Lord said to him, “You Pharisees are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and wickedness!Sunday, July 17, 2011
How dirty are you?
I don’t really know a lot of dirty people, however there may be many people that I do know that appear clean on the outside, but very dirty on the inside. Of course I’m not talking about physical dirt. So many people appear to be good. They do good things, they give to charity, they are nice, friendly, and fun to be around. But on the inside they are filthy because they don’t trust in Jesus. This list can even include people within the church and officials in churches. God does not look at the outside of a person again not talking looks, I’m talking about the things people do. He looks on the inside at the heart. I’d rather be dirty on the outside and clean on the inside anytime. So we must all take a look at ourselves and ask am I dirty? On the inside that is? If you do find dirt in your heart there is only one way to clean up and that is to ask Jesus to do it. You are incapable of cleaning your heart only Jesus can tackle that project. But for him to clean it you have to ask him in.
