The Ultimate Consultant

Yesterday I wrote about Jesus being the ultimate fighter, today we are going to look at Jesus as the ultimate consultant.
In Joshua 9 there is a very important lesson to learn. In verses 1-13 there were people who were afraid that Joshua would come into their town and wipe them off the face of the earth at the Lord’s command as Joshua had just done not once but twice so they pretended to come from a very distant place and put on old clothes and brought old moldy food to make it look like they had traveled a long ways. However Joshua and the Israelites made a mistake. Verse 14 tells us their mistake.
14 So the Israelites examined their food, but they did not consult the Lord.
By not consulting the Lord they were deceived. I’m sure I don’t have to explain this in too much detail, but just in case. In everything you do you should consult the Lord to 1. Find out his will and 2. To protect yourself from being deceived. In chapters 6,7,& 8 of Joshua whenever Joshua consulted the Lord and obeyed his commands Joshua was successful and when he didn’t he failed.
The exact same thing can be said for you. You need to get a good consultant, and the world’s best consultant is Jesus and he is available for the asking.
