What do scoffers of God look like?

2 Timothy 3

1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. 2 For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. 3 They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. 4 They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. 5 They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

When you read these verses what images pop into your head of what these people may look like? Is it like this?

After all these are some pretty wicked people we are talking about. They have to look like this, don’t they? However that fact is the people these verses are talking about are more likely to like this.

Yes they look normal and some of them even sit in churches. They look like “good” people. Verse five really says a lot about these type of people they act religious while rejecting what can make them godly. It’s actually quite sad, if God has shown you grace and made you one of His children thank Him for it today. If not ask Him today and He will listen.
