If You Have Ever Gotten The Look

Have you ever listened to a conversation between two people that in the end all you can do is just sit back and shake your head? The things that they talk about sometimes can be just plain messed up, or even repulsive to you. Then if you try and enter the conversation and perhaps talk about spiritual or even just moral things you just get that look. It is extremely important that you not take it to personally and just remember what it was like not to be a Christian or what it would be like if you were not. After all, the things that now interest you will fall on deaf ears if the people you are talking to are not ready to hear it. After all Jesus himself didn’t get everyone to listen to him. The following verses make this very clear.

[5] They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. [6] We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

(1 John 4:5-6 ESV)

We have a distinct advantage because we know the truth and we should continually seek creative ways to share the truth with others.  People who are not true believers resist the real truth, and we should be prepared for that. After all the truth just does not make sense to them. It does not fit their man-centered, materialistic system of thought. However we should never quit speaking and sharing the truth. Especailly important as we head into the Easter weekend.
