What do you pray for?

Blog disclaimer: Between now and May 1st my daily blogs may be sporadic and shorter while I prepare a sermon to deliver the Sunday after Easter. Regular Blogs will continue on May 2nd.

What do you pray for? Sometimes when people pray to God it’s like a letter to Santa Claus. Sometimes prayer lists can be very selfish. The words used in Colossians 1:9 “ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.” These are words that I pray for myself almost every day. However it struck me today as I was writing this, how many times have I prayed this for someone else?  Not near enough. What a better prayer to pray for someone you know.
Colossian 1:9-10

9 So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. 10 Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
