Today I would like to share a line from one of my favorite books of all time and that is the Glory of Christ by John Owen. John really gives us the truth and a challenge with this line when he says:
“The chief duty of faith and love is to lead us to prefer Christ above ourselves, and His concerns above our own.”
To prefer Christ above ourselves and His concerns about our own, what a challenge, yet the direction we should be headed. I think another line in the book gives us a good way to start heading in that direction.
“It is our duty, therefore, constantly to meditate on the glory of Christ. This will fill us with a joy which will in turn, move us to meditate on His glory more and more.”
