Who wants to say grace?

I am under the impression that the most misunderstood word in a Christian’s vocabulary is grace. This word has been so watered down over time that at dinner tables all over the world the question is asked “who wants to say grace” you don’t say grace you pray. I knew it was bad but when I did a little study for this blog I didn’t know how bad it was. There was so much watered down stuff out there that I would not know where to begin. Even the dictionary said something about assisting humans in salvation.  There is no assistance in grace even though some tend to think there is. Time for a big word, it’s called prevenient grace (I’m glad my spell check does not recognize that word) It basically says that God’s grace it out there and humans can choose to accept it or deny it. The problem with that is that it puts humans in control and not God, it’s wrong and scary. When it comes to truly understanding grace it is virtually impossible for us as humans to comprehend. However no definition of grace can go without the words undeserved favor and that is why I think we as humans have trouble getting it, because we all think we deserve it, or that we are entitled. To first understand grace you have to understand how sinful, depraved, dirty, and unworthy you really are. And that only by the blood of Jesus Christ and the grace he showed you when he willingly died on the cross for those he chose, only then will you get a glimpse of grace. Now who wants to say grace?

Romans 11:5-8

5 It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel[c] have remained faithful because of God’s grace—his undeserved kindness in choosing them. 6 And since it is through God’s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God’s grace would not be what it really is—free and undeserved. 7 So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have—the ones God has chosen—but the hearts of the rest were hardened. 8 As the Scriptures say, “God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear.”[d]
