Resistance is futile

Once a person becomes a Christian or as was said yesterday is born again things change. There is a definite change in the way a person lives their life.  They then begin to do good works, they don’t do good works to become a Christian, but they do them because they are a Christian. These good works are not only inevitable but they are immediate. They are immediate because they are a new person, this does not mean they are perfect, but they are changed forever and that change is a continual process. If a person claims to be a Christian and there is no evidence of change in their heart or their life one would have to ask if their claim was genuine. Then on the other side once Jesus gets a hold of you and you are born again. The old person, the old self clings on to whatever it can and goes out kicking and screaming and is not completely gone until a person goes to be with Jesus. That is the reality of the world we live in. But when Jesus gets a hold of you resistance is futile.

 Romans 6:1-4

Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? 2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? 3 Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? 4 For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.
